The "traverser for wind tunnels" is used to test the velocity distribution within the wind tunnel. It is equipped with a Pitot tube at its tip and moves in a grid pattern within the test space of the wind tunnel to measure the velocity distribution. The movement along each axis is driven by a ball screw powered by an electric servo motor, and the structure within the velocity field is designed in an airfoil shape to minimize wind resistance.
